KC and Jonathan are dear friends, and when KC said she wanted to do a maternity photography session I jumped at the idea. KC and I first met when we were in middle school, but our relationship grew after we were both married, mostly because we lived in the same city long enough to become better friends. But mostly our love for traveling brought us closer together because KC and Jonathan came to visit us in Singapore while they were in between teaching jobs in South Korea.
Right now KC and Jonathan are strong, loving parents to their boy Carson who was born at a birthing center on Thanksgiving day last year. However, their journey was not an easy one as their difficult birth turned traumatic when Carson was born not breathing.
The family is doing well now and are adjusting to life as new parents. They know that in the realm of natural births the complications that came about in their birth were uncommon. They are stronger because of what they endured and as KC said, “It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but I am proud of pushing my baby out. I was able to be an active participant in the birth of my child.”

It was an honor for me to document their first pregnancy mainly now that KC, Jonathan and Carson have made it through one of the most difficult times in their lives.
